SRC Handover - Friday 9 December
Tomorrow the Year 6 students will hand over the Student Representative Council to the Year 5 School Leaders. This will be the last meeting for the year. All class monitors and representatives are acknowledged in this special assembly. Congratulations to all our SRC representatives.
Canteen Closed - Friday 9 December
As from tomorrow our school canteen is closed. Cleaning and stocktake will take place next week but there will be no opportunity for students to make purchases. Flexischools will also be shut down as from tomorrow. Thank you to Becky McGowan and her team of volunteers (special mention Erin Phillips, Kathryn Wadham, Terri Evans and Xara Roznerski) for their commitment to running such a healthy canteen during 2022. We look forward to more volunteers next year. Thank you, Helen Warrington, for taking on the role as canteen treasurer this year.
Year 6 Graduation - Monday 12 December 1.15pm arrive (1.30pm start)
Next week we will officially farewell Year 6 2022 at a formal graduation ceremony. Our wonderful Year 6 are preparing for high school transition and this assembly is an opportunity to thank them for their service to the school and wish them all the best on their high school journey. All parents of Year 6 students are invited to attend.
The graduation ceremony will be followed by the Year 6 graduation dinner on Tuesday 13 December at 6.00pm.
Picnic Days
Next week each stage has a picnic day. Please see the days and times below. These days are informal party days and mufti clothes can be worn. Please ensure students are wearing sand shoes as thongs and sandals are not appropriate footwear for school and the activities. Please be sure to pack drink bottles, hats and suncream for the day.

Year 6 Clap Out - Friday 16 December 2.30pm onwards
At the end of each year the school claps out our year 6 students as they leave primary school for the last time. All Year 6 parents are invited to come up to the school to meet their child as they exit Manly Vale Public School for the last time.
Staff Leaving 2023- Miss Erin Jones and Miss Ella Stoddart
It is always with great sadness that we farewell some of our teachers as they move schools to take up different positions. This year we will farewell Miss Erin Jones from 4J and wish her all the best as she takes up a new permanent Assistant Principal role at Mona Vale Public School. We will also say farewell to Miss Ella Stoddart who is also leaving us to take up a permanent teaching position at Mona Vale Public School. Both staff members have been dedicated and enthusiastic teachers of our Year 4 classes this year. We wish them every success for their future careers at Mona Vale Public School.
School Reports - Tuesday 13 December
School reports will all be sent home on Tuesday 13 December. An emailed version will also be delivered that day also.
School Fees and Library Books
Please make sure to return all library books and school equipment back to the school. This is the last week for a lot of formalised classes and all resources are now being returned for stocktake.
There are many families who still have outstanding school fees. Please finalise all payments this week. Picnic days are next week, and we would like all students to be able to attend their picnic days. If you are having financial difficulties, please make an appointment with the principal.
Classes Next Year- Leaving the School
We are starting to prepare for next year and it is important that we have correct numbers when forming classes. Please email the school if you are leaving next year. Classes are based on professional decisions made by the classroom teachers and the executive team. Friendship groupings are one of the criteria for forming classes but not the only one. Students do need to get used to being in classes without their friends. Remember that recess and lunchtimes and across grade activities e.g. excursions, do allow students to mix and mingle with others in their cohort.
Early Collection of Students
Please avoid collecting students during morning tea 11.00am-11.20am and lunch 12.50pm-1.40pm as students are in the playground and very hard to locate.
