Changes to COVID-19 Isolation Requirements
As you would have heard the National Cabinet announced that the isolation period for positive COVID-19 cases would be reduced from 7 days to 5 days from last Friday. What this means is for students who have tested positive is they must:
Complete 5 days of isolation from the date they tested positive
Be symptom free before returning to school, if symptoms remain after day 5, they must continue to follow NSW Health guidelines to self-isolate and undertake a rapid antigen test (RAT)
Complete a RAT and return a negative result before attending school on days 6 & 7 after testing positive to COVID-19
If a family requires any additional RAT tests, please contact the office.
Kindergarten Transition 2023
Transition to school is an important time for families and students to feel connected to their new school environment, start to build relationships with school staff and have the information they need, at the time when they need it. All enrolled families would have received an email this week outlining the procedures for our two face to face transition sessions on Monday 17 and 24 October. Please if you have a child starting school next year and you have not enrolled yet please complete the online enrolment form as soon as possible which can be found on our school website.
Public Holiday- Thursday 22 September
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Sunday morning that Australia will mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II with a public holiday on Thursday 22 September, as part of a national memorial service. As a result, the school and Sustainable OSHC will be closed next Thursday 22 September. School resumes for the last day of term 3 on Friday 23 September.
Tell Them From Me Student Feedback Snapshot 2 Survey
I am delighted that next term, our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback Snapshot 2 survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices.
The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. More than 6,300 schools in Australia and around the world have used Tell Them From Me to survey 5.4 million students. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we do things at our school.
I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 20 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours between 10 October and 4 November. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary.
If you do not wish for your child to participate, please print off the consent form from the link below and please return the form to school by Thursday 22 September. Copies of the form and FAQs are available from Your child's participation (nsw.gov.au) Translated forms can also be found at the link above.
Wishing everyone a wonderful end to your week!

Yr 6 Peer Support Activity Day – Friday 23 September
On the last day of term, Year 6 students will be running a sports fun day, where they will lead small groups of K-5 students through a series of gross motor activities at Millers Reserve 9:30am-12:30pm.
This day has been designed to allow students to interact K-6, forming connections across the school, ultimately enhancing each child’s ‘Sense of Belonging’.
Students will arrive at school at normal time, walk down to Millers Reserve with their class teacher, undertake three activities, eat recess, continue three more activities and then walk back to school with their class teacher for lunch. The afternoon session will be spent back in classrooms as normal.
Students should wear school sports uniform with sports shoes and bring a hat and drink bottle. The canteen will be open for lunch orders only, however all students will need to bring recess from home.
If the weather is inclement the day will be postponed and rescheduled to Term 4.
