Principal’s Report

It has been another busy week, but we have had a drop in COVID cases amongst our students with an average of 55-60 students away this week. We still have a lot of staff shortages now but luckily we have been able to maintain stability and not split classes. A big thank you to Mrs Radan who has been on library, science, year 6 and learning and support in her last week at Manly Vale Public School.

Farewell Mrs Radan

Tomorrow is Mrs Radan’s last day at Manly Vale before she takes maternity leave. Mrs Radan has done an amazing job with 5M settling them into school before Mrs McManus returned from Scotland. Mrs Radan has been a loved Year 5 & 6 teacher at Manly Vale for the past few years and we will miss her greatly. We wish her and her husband Rad, all the best for the birth of their first child. We look forward to her return sometime next year. Mrs Radan’s last day will be this Friday 1 April.

Selective High School Test Thursday 31 March

Congratulations to the 26 Year 6 students who sat the Selective High School entrance test today. These 4 tests are extremely difficult and every student who attempted these tests is to be congratulated. Selective High School (Manly, North Sydney Boys and North Sydney Girls) are very difficult to get into, with only the top 5% of students attaining positions. Good luck to all applicants.

Thank you to Mrs Blackband who administered the tests at school.

Next Tuesday we will have our final P & C meeting for the term. They participated in a range of team building and leadership activities and enjoyed sharing ideas with other local school leaders. Thank you to Mrs Blackband and Mrs Ward who attended with the students.

School Holidays

Next week we will break for our end of term school holidays. Friday 8 April will be the last day. The students do not return until Wednesday 27 April as Anzac Day is on Monday 25 April (Public holiday) and there is a Staff development Day on Tuesday 26 April. Which means students have an extra few days of holiday this term.

Please ensure you have care arrangements in place for these additional days. Bookings for our Vacation Care program can be made through Sustainable OSHC.
