Principal’s Report

It seems every week is presenting its own challenges. Thank you to everyone for your support and calmness resulting in a smooth evacuation of the school last Tuesday. I hope that none of the Manly Vale families experienced too much damaged from the wild weather we had this week.

Missed Parent/ Teacher Interviews

Apologies that we had to postpone Parent/ Teacher interviews last Tuesday. Classroom teachers will be in touch to reschedule interview times with parents.

SRC badges- presented tomorrow morning

Tomorrow morning at the 9.00am assembly all our SRC elected representatives will receive their Student Representative Council Badges. Two parents from each representative are invited to attend the assembly under the K-2 COLA at the back of the school.

The SRC meets twice a term and allows for “student voice” in the schools’ decision-making processes. Congratulations to all the students who were elected to be the representatives of their class. We look forward to our first meeting later this term.

Year 6 Parent Information Night- Monday 14 March 5.30pm

Next Monday we will have a High School information night for year 6 parents to ask questions regarding the transition process at the end of the year and assist with the completion of the Expression of Interest forms. Mrs Blackband will be hosting this evening. We hope to see a parent from every Year 6 students at the evening.

High School Academic Tests- Thursday 17 March

Next Thursday 17 March, Balgowlah Boys and Mackellar Girls will be having their academic placement tests for 2023. Students who wish to apply for these classes will need to sit these tests.

School Photo Day Rescheduled

Unfortunately, due to the wet weather conditions last Thursday we have rescheduled school photo day. The decision to postpone was made by both Advanced Life and the school as there were concerns about student safety and the quality of photographs with students walking down to the hall in the rain. We were successful in completing sibling and Year 6 photographs in the morning. The remaining photographs have been rescheduled for Monday 27 June (Week 10, Term 2). Students who still wish to have their sibling photo can have their image taken on the rescheduled date during lunchtime. For all parent enquiries regarding school photos please contact the Advanced Life Parent Team directly by calling 1300 728 972 or visit the website below:

Primary Students (3-6) wishing to complete the challenge are expected to do so independently, with support available from library staff as needed. Students need to read 20 PRC books and enter them into the PRC website by the closing date, Friday 19 August, to qualify for a certificate at the end of the year.

Reading lists and general rules can be found on the PRC website at:
