Principal’s Report

What a fabulous way to the end the school term with our K-2 Dance Concert

The costumes, lighting and of course choreography was fantastic and the Kindy, year 1 and 2 classes all put on a spectacular show for us all. Thank you to Ms Vanessa for her professional choreography and to Ms Pembroke for her organisation of the whole concert. Thanks Ms Mason for the lighting and Mrs Christian for her filming of the dress rehearsal. Thanks, to all the parents who attended. A link to the filming of your child’s class item will be sent out through the Class Coordinators later this week, along with a class photo with all the children in their costumes.

Welcome new families to Manly vale

Last Monday we had a few new families do a tour of the school in preparation for a start at the beginning of next term. We wish you all the best over the holidays and want to extend a warm welcome to you all as you start at Manly Vale Public School next term. School starts on Tuesday 13 July next term as we have a Staff Development Day on Monday 12 July.

Please make alternative arrangements for childcare as the first day back at school is only for teachers. You will need to find alternative supervision for this day. Our current before and after school care provider, Sustainable OSCH is available for bookings by contacting them directly 0473 221 028

Reports- Semester 1

Reports have been distributed this week on your child’s academic and social progress for Semester 1. Please remember that “Sound” progress (C) means that your child is achieving the expected standard for their stage of development. “High” (B) and Outstanding (A) is only given if your child is achieving above grade/stage expectations.

If you wish to discuss your child’s progress you are encouraged to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher next term. No formal interview process has been scheduled for this term. Additional reports can be provided on request for separated parents.

Pie day today

Thank you to the canteen coordinators and the volunteers for assistance with our Pie and Fizz day today. The SRC requested that we bring back our one-off treat days for each term. These days are approved by the Healthy Canteens initiative. The children certainly enjoyed a change in menu for this special day. Thanks Kerrie, Robyn and Bec for all you do in providing lunches a for our children. Thank you to all the volunteers this term for your support of the canteen.

Challenge to Be Fit Fundraiser- Friday 25 June

Instead of our usual Year 6 fundraising disco we have decided to run an Inflatable Obstacle course throughout the school where every child participates. The school will be divided into three zones and each class will have 45 minutes to complete each zone.

The children will need to wear sports uniform and come prepared for a day of fun and activity. The day will be postponed if it is raining or there are high winds. This decision will be made in the morning. There are no PSSA training or games tomorrow.

K-2 Dance Concert

We would like to sincerely thank all parents and carers who were able to attend the K-2 dance concert on Wednesday 23 June. It was wonderful to have your support. Our students were super excited to present their dance performances to their families. We are certain you thoroughly enjoyed each performance and appreciate the effort our students applied to learn their choreography.

A special thank you to Miss Vanessa who has made dance a fun and enjoyable experience for all students. Her energy, drive and ability to engage every child is a testament to her natural ability as a dance teacher. Thank you to Miss Pembroke for developing the timetable and program for the rehearsal and performance and to all our outstanding K-2 teachers who give their heart and soul to their classes, we sincerely thank you!

A special thank you to all the parents and carers who gave up their time to help support their child’s class teacher with costuming, hair and make-up on the day. Your time and support is always greatly appreciated.

The entire K-2 team would like to wish all our Manly Vale students and their families a fabulous, well deserved holiday. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again in term 3.

Kind Regards,

Miss Pembroke and the K-2 Team

Outstanding money owed for forgotten Recess and Lunches

As we approach the end of term we ask that any money owed to the canteen for forgotten lunches or recess please be paid promptly. This can be done via the Flexischools app or website, using the IOU option

http://user.flexischools.com.au/

Also, to avoid this happening continuously for some it is helpful to know you can do a recurring weekly order on Flexischools.
