New Strategic Plan: Parent Survey
A new strategic plan is being developed for our school to define our directions over the next four years (2021-2024). In order to develop a shared vision for the plan and the education of our students, we are seeking your input with a parent survey. Our focus will be on continuous educational improvement, delivering consistently high standard of educational programs along with teacher and student learning that is driven by research and data analysis. The survey will be emailed out through our parent coordinators so please look out for the email. We appreciate your voice and time spent completing this quick survey.
Online Enrolment
The Department of Education’s new Online Enrolment System is now live. The Online Enrolment System is designed to provide flexibility for our parents to submit an enrolment application online and at the time that best suits you. The application can be accessed on all browsers and mobile devices.
The online application process is currently restricted to:
Enrolments into local schools only
Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent
residents
Children who live in NSW.
School Fees - Now due!
We still have many families that have not finalised payments of school fees for the year. Gym instructors and dance teachers need to be paid, textbooks and workbooks need to be paid for and a few incursions and excursions are still outstanding. I realise it has been a tough year for families but a review of excursions and incursions will happen if payments aren’t met this year. Please contact the office if you need assistance. Please make payments by the end of the week.
Leaving next year?
Please inform the office by email if you are intending on leaving the school next year. Teachers are preparing classes for 2021 and staff need to be organised and it is beneficial if we know which of our students are remaining at Manly Vale Public School.
Traffic Signs
On the street surrounding the school there has been changes to parking and an extension of the bus zone on Gibbs Street. There is now a 5 minute parking limit on the southern side of Sunshine Street which allows for a quick drop off and pick up. On the opposite side of the road on Sunshine Street there is ‘no parking’ in school drop off and pick up times. Whilst you cannot park, you can remain in the car for a short time for students to get in. You must not be more than 3 metres from your car.
On Gibbs Street there is an all day bus zone on the corner of Arana & Gibbs Streets to allow for all buses including PSSA and school excursion buses, as well as our normal bus zone for the school bus service between 8.30-9.30am and 2.30-4.30pm (school days). Traffic wardens and controllers will be enforcing these regulations. Please take care when parking around the school.
Parking
Every week a neighbour calls the school with complaints of driveways being blocked due to parents illegally parking in the pick-up and drop off times. Please do not park across the neighbour’s driveways. There is plenty of parking just a short walk from the school. Please respect our neighbours and their property.
