Principal’s Report – Term 2 Week 1
Welcome back to all our families and friends. We hope you had a wonderful break and enjoyed time away from routines and schedules. The teachers returned to work on Monday and had a wonderful day learning new strategies to teach our gifted and high potential students. The High Potential Gifted Education (HPGE) policy is now fully implemented in all teacher’s programs, and address the 4 domains of giftedness and potential. The domains are physical, intellectual, social & emotional, and creative. It was a very informative day, with all teachers discussing varying techniques and ideas to improve the implementation of their teaching programs to provide opportunities for our gifted and high potential students to flourish in these domains of learning.
The second staff development day (Tuesday) was an opportunity to look and discuss the new “parent friendly” reporting policy to be implemented this semester. The new policy has been developed by the Department of Education in response to parent and community feedback.
A more detailed look into the new reporting format will be discussed at next week’s P&C meeting on Tuesday 6 May at 7.00pm. All welcome.
P&C Meeting- Tuesday 6 May 7.00pm
All parents and community are invited to come along to next week’s P&C meeting. We have a dedicated new committee leading the group this year and are excited to have some fresh ideas and parent contributions. Budgets and fundraising will be discussed next week, as well as the new reporting format to be sent home this term.
Our new executive committee for 2026 is:
President- Mr Matt Lutze
Vice President- Ms Xara Roznerski
Treasurer- Mr Ian Warren
Secretary- Vacant- We do have a nomination which will be voted in next week.
ANZAC Day Service- Wednesday 30 April
Yesterday the whole school took part in an ANZAC day service in our school hall. It is always such an emotional and heartwarming service led by our school leaders. All students wore poppies and learnt about the traditions of the ANZAC commemoration ceremony, paying respect to all those who served our country in war, and/or lost family members. Thank you to Mrs Adamo, Mrs Mauger and Mrs Warnock for organising this assembly, and to our wonderful school leaders who led the assembly for all grades.
Lest We Forget

Multicultural Public Speaking Competition- Friday 2 May & 16 May
We have had to postpone our stage 2 Multicultural Public Speaking finals until Friday 16 May as a few of our speakers will be sitting the Opportunity Class (OC) test, which has been scheduled for this Friday. Apologises for late change to the date.
We look forward to hearing our stage 3 competitors at 9.00am this Friday 2 May in the school hall.
Good Luck to our OC and Selective High Applicants
This weekend from Friday to Sunday, 23 of our year 4 students, and 14 of our Year 6 students, will sit the Opportunity Class (OC) and Selective High School tests at Randwick Racecourse. These are very difficult tests, and we wish our students the best of luck in applying for these high academic placements. Parents should have received notification to the exam centre their child is attending and the day they are sitting the test. An enrolment slip has been mailed to parents. If you have not received this notification, please contact the school immediately.
Mother’s Day Stall- Friday 9 May
Thank you to Karen Murgatroyd and her volunteers for organising our annual Mother’s Day stall for next week. Students need to bring in a gift to the value of $10.00 into their classrooms and have their name marked off a list over the next week to purchase a gift at the Mother’s Day stall on Friday 9 May.
To purchase a gift students must bring in $10.00 cash on the day to then purchase a gift of their choice. The stall is our first fundraiser for the year. Proceeds will go towards new PSSA jerseys, sporting equipment for the playground, science resources and reading books for K-2 students.
The Mother’s Day stall is an optional activity. Students do not have to attend the stall or purchase a gift. This is a voluntary fundraising activity.

Soccer six-a-side
Football SSG is one of the Northern Beaches biggest summer sporting organisations. We organise six-a-side football (soccer) competitions at Curl Curl and Warriewood each Spring from mid-September to mid-December. Last year we had more than 3,600 players involved!
Our program provides a safe, fun and inclusive environment for players of all ages to develop their sporting prowess, no matter what their ability. Our rules have been written very specifically to help players improve individually and as a team which, in turn, builds confidence and fosters enjoyment and camaraderie.
We will commence accepting registrations for our Spring 2025 season on 1st July, so we’d ideally like to quickly understand the opportunities so that we can build awareness through May and June.
