Principal’s Report – Term 1 Week 11
What a busy term it has been, and we are all looking forward to holidays over the next few weeks. Tomorrow we will conclude the term with our annual Easter Hat Parade. Students from kindergarten to year 2 will parade their Easter hats around the oval and basketball court at 9.00am. Café Owl will be open from 8.00am for Easter treats and breakfast. It is always a fun way to complete Term 1. We may even have a visit from Easter Bunny!
Congratulations to our School Bands
This week our school bands performed for the first time. Junior band performed in front of all the K-3 students last Monday and the Intermediate and Senior band performed as part of the NSWEE festival at The Forest High School last Thursday evening. Congratulations to all our band members on a very successful term 1. Thank you to our conductors Ben and Surrey for their ongoing commitment to our band programs.

School Photo Day
Yesterday we had our school photo day. It is great to have the opportunity to capture our years of schooling with the photos from this annual event. Thank you to Mrs Birrell who coordinates the day for the school. We look forward to receiving our photos next term.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended the parent/teacher interviews over the last few weeks. It is a great opportunity to discuss goals and expectations for our students for the year. If you missed this valuable opportunity and wish to connect with the class teacher, please email the school, to set up another time next term.
Staff Development Days - Monday 28 April and Tuesday 29 April
Students do not return to school until Wednesday 30 April. Teachers return to school on Monday 28 April but have two days of staff training. If you require supervision for those days, please contact our Before and After School Care provider on:
Parking Concerns
There have been parents using the Sunshine/ Gibbs Street carpark for pick up and drop offs. The issue has been reported to the parking rangers. Please do not use this car park to pick up and drop off your children during those peak times, as children are crossing the driveway access from the “Drop and Run” spots and it is becoming very dangerous with cars entering and exiting this carpark.
The carpark is not accessible from 8.00am-9.30am and then again from 2.30pm-4.00pm Therefore there should be no cars exiting or entering the carpark at those times except if you have a disability sticker.

ANZAC Day Service- Wednesday 30 April
We will hold our ANZAC day service next term on the first day back, Wednesday 30 April. All students will participate in this commemorative service led by our school leaders on their return to school next term.
Happy Holidays
Thank you for a great start to the year. It has been a very busy term with lots of events and we look forward to working with our school community, parents and students again next term. Have a great holiday!
Tina Lee – Principal

Stage 3 Scientists in Action
Our Stage 3 students have been putting their scientific skills to the test with an exciting dissolving experiment! As part of their learning about fair testing, they designed investigations to explore how different factors, such as temperature, stirring, and particle size affect the rate at which a substance dissolves.
Students posed testable questions, formed hypotheses, and carefully identified independent, dependent, and controlled variables to ensure a fair test. Using their keen observation skills, they recorded and analysed results, drawing conclusions based on scientific evidence.
Check out these photos of our young scientists in action as they develop essential inquiry skills and a deeper understanding of the scientific method!

Stage 2 Science
Our Stage 2 students have been busy trialling the exciting new Science syllabus, diving into the wonders of the skeletal and muscular systems. Through hands-on challenges, models and research activities, students have explored how bones and muscles work together to help us move. We have made mini moving skeletons, muscle hands and a model of a pumping heart. A special thanks to the P&C for continuing to support funding for our science program. The children are loving engaging with our newly purchased Skeleton ‘Bony Tony’ and our organ model ‘Gutsy Gabi’. What a great term of science!

About Be Centre
Be Centre is a unique charity based on the Northern Beaches which offers age-appropriate mental health support through Play Therapy for children aged 3-12 years (and their families). We work with vulnerable children who may have been impacted by a variety of life challenges. These include but are not limited to anxiety, behavioural challenges, family breakdown, parental separation, divorce, bullying, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, developmental trauma, medical trauma, illness, grief and loss and childhood depression.
Our highly trained and experienced Play Therapists provide specialised programs to help children make sense of situations and events, explore and express their feelings, restore trust and build self-confidence, life skills and resilience through 1:1 play therapy sessions to learn the tools so they can grow up with prospects not problems.
We are dedicated to early intervention and stopping cycles of harm – helping children heal so that they can create brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their community.
